The Nook Color uses a backlit LCD screen, so you can read in the dark. However, it’s not as good when reading in the bright sun. However, for outdoor reading, a regular Nook is better.

Conclusion

The Nook Color is not the best choice if you just want an eReader that you can read outside in the bright sun. A regular e-Ink eBook reader like the Nook basic is better for that.

However, the Nook Color is an excellent choice if you’re looking for an eReader that allows you to read in the dark and also combines the functions of a tablet, such as email, internet surfing, music and video – and does so in a device that is light and fits easily in your hand. Recommendation

There isn’t much to complain about when it comes to the Amazon Kindle eReaders. The Kindles are the premium eReaders on the market and the new, low price of the basic model brings a Kindle within reach of most people and makes it price-competitive with all other eReaders. There is a complete line of more expensive Kindles for sale with more extensive features (although, I just want to read books on my eReader, and the basic model is perfect for me).
